Comelec First Division Disqualifies Grace Poe in 2016 Presidential Bid

Grace Poe disqualified to run in 2016 Presidential Elections in the Philippines!

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) 1st division has already disqualified the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) of presidential aspirant, Senator Grace Poe.




The Comelec voted for 2-1 in favor of Poe’s cancellation of COC.

Two Comelec Commissioners, Luie Guia and Rowena Guanzon opted to vote for the disqualification while Christian Lim is the sole voter against the disqualification.

The 3-member division of Comelec ruled majority for the petitions filed by University of the East College of Law Dean Amado Valdez, former Senator Francisco Tatad and De La Salle University Professor Antonio Contreras.


According to Poe’s lawyer, Atty. George Garcia, they will still fight and file a motion for reconsideration next week.
